THE COLOR OF IDEAS

PANTONE Manufacturing Color

The Color of Ideas was the branding tagline we captured through a series of deliverables to shaped the future Pantone. This project launched Pantone’s latest color system in 40 years that is used for manufacturing colored digital pixels, inks, paints, plastics, and fabrics.

This experience considered several physical mediums and dimensions. The master color unit was the first deliverable we worked on that considered a wide range of stakeholder requirements. Halo was my personal contribution. Its minimal futuristic style celebrated the Pantone brand identity and made color the focus of the interaction. This design was a fresh canvas for the branding concept to take on different shapes while meeting real-world requirements.

Goe, the final design selected to market, was a fusion of the Halo concept and an enlarged Pantone chip, which the company was popular for. I also introduced quotes into the brand advertising and collateral to allow the concept of colors to take on different inspirational meanings for their designer customer.
